How to Humidity-Proof Your Hair
1. Apply a protective layer over your hair with styling products
Anti-humidity sprays aren’t a marketing gimmick—there’s a reason they work. Apply before you style with heat. Another top tip: Taking smaller sections allows you to have more control of your hair, which will play off later when humidity strikes.
2. Apply An Oil, Serum, Or Cream To Your Hair
Frizz occurs when your hair is dry and the cuticle is rough — and when that happens, moisture moves in, causing the follicle to swell and frizz. Our tip: taking an oil, serum, or cream of your choice and apply it throughout your already styled hair to smooth the strands.
3. Double check all your products
It’s critical to choose silicone-free products when you want to combat frizz. Silicone is not a naturally occurring element — it’s basically a plastic that can be used in liquid or solid form. Essentially, using a silicone-based product on your hair is like coating each strand in plastic — yikes! Silicone products may give the illusion of shine, but it will come at a price. Sure, your hair may appear shiny at first, but it will also be weighed down and dry because moisture will be blocked from entering the hair shaft.
